OPS / MAPProcess mapping

See how work really flows.

Together with your team we draw the process as it actually runs today — who does what, where work waits and where it gets stuck. Then we design a simpler version you can implement.

WHAT MAPS USUALLY SHOW

waiting > work in many processes a task spends more time waiting between people than being worked on

WHAT WE MAP

The whole picture, not just boxes

  • M_01Steps, decisions and their order
  • M_02Who does what — roles and handovers
  • M_03Systems, documents and data used
  • M_04Time spent working and waiting
  • M_05Problems, workarounds and rework
MAP_01 / BPMN

BPMN process maps

A standard, readable notation with swimlanes for each role. A shared reference for business, IT and new employees.

  • swimlanes for teams and roles
  • decisions and exceptions made visible
  • ready for IT and automation
MAP_02 / VSM

Value stream mapping

We add time to the map: how long each step takes and how long work waits in between. This shows where the delays really are.

  • work time vs waiting time
  • bottlenecks and queues
  • a baseline for measuring improvement
MAP_03 / ROLES

Roles and responsibilities

For each step we agree who does it, who decides and who must be informed — so tasks stop falling between chairs.

  • RACI matrix
  • SIPOC: inputs, outputs, clients
  • clear process owner
OUR APPROACH

A process map is not a drawing for the drawer — it’s your team’s shared language.

Five steps. With the people who do the work.

01

Scope and goals

We choose the process, its start and end, and what you want to improve.

02

Interviews and observation

We talk to the people involved and watch the work in practice.

03

Mapping workshop

Together with the team we draw the as-is map and agree on the facts.

04

Analysis

We find waiting, duplication, rework and risks — and rank them.

05

To-be map and plan

We design the target process and a step-by-step plan to get there.

Frequently asked questions.

How long does it take to map one process?

It depends on how complex the process is and how many teams take part. After an initial conversation we give you a concrete schedule.

Does our team have to stop working for it?

No. We plan short interviews and one or two workshops around your team’s schedule, and observe work as it normally happens.

In what format will we receive the maps?

As readable PDF files and as editable source files in BPMN notation, so you can keep the maps up to date yourselves.

What happens after mapping?

You decide. You can implement the improvements yourselves, or we can help with standardisation, optimisation and automation of the chosen steps.

Which process should we map?

Tell us which process causes the most problems. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours — personally.
